some thoughts about bouldering in the Frankenjura

The Frankenjura is well-known for its outstanding climbing.
Wide spread rock formations in beautiful franconian forests offers around 13000 climbs for all climbers from educated beginner to professional. The bouldering around here is kept secret for now. The climbing community arranged itself with landowners and local governments to listen to the „Boulder-Appell“ , a guideline of how to behave and more about how not to behave in the forest while accessing the boulders.

Most striking is the point of not delivering official information about any bouldering, so it does not exist any bouldering guidebook or online information.
On a private basis information can be shared, alongside with how-to-behave guidelines as well as local access issues, which had to be obeyed at any moment.
It is al about awareness for the local bouldering community as well about  „minimize your impact“.
With this in hindsight, wonderful boulders can be found around here between 6A and 8B+….

if needed, crash pads can be rented on-site

official information on bouldering and access-issues can be found on the website of IG Klettern.
